What Qualities Should a President Have?

Time Magazine published an article in June 1963. In the article General Eisenhower explained what he thought the six qualities a presidential candidate should have. These are set out below:
1. Self-restraint
2. Understanding
3. Inner calmness
4. Strength of Decision
5. Experience
6. Strength of Character
There is no doubt that the role of President is hard work. The qualities above are by no means exhaustive. You need to be made of strong stuff to be one. To be able to remain calm in the face of extreme difficulties. Perhaps this is why the field of Politics is male dominated. We are, apparently, the more emotional sex. Could women stay strong when faced with extremely difficult decisions, or would their emotions get the better of them?
