Pepto-Bismol Pepto-Bismol is a pink stomach medicine which has been specially designed to relieve the most common and distressing symptoms of tummy upsets, including heartburn, nausea, indigestion, upset stomach and diarrhoea. Pepto-Bismol is a perfect stomach medicine because a single bottle can treat 5 common stomach problems; upset stomach, heartburn, indigestion, nausea and diarrhoea. It works by providing a soothing, protecting coat which calms and defends the stomach lining from the irritation of too much acid, spicy foods or too much alcohol. The active ingredient (bismuth subsalicylate) also helps stop the food poisoning bacteria and to remove the toxins they produce. Ingredients The active ingredient is Bismuth Subgallate (262.5 mg). The other ingredients are Calcium Carbonate, Maninitol, Povidone, Talc, Magnesium Stearate, Amaranth Aluminium Lake, Saccharin Sodium, Peppermint flavour, Vanilla Cream flavour and Aspartame. Directions 16 years and over: Take 2 tablets. Repeat dosage every half to one hour as needed. No more than 8 doses in 24 hours. Under 16 years: not to be given.
